Life in Dartmouth

Lakes, a ferry commute, and more house for the money across the harbour.

Dartmouth has quietly become the answer for buyers who want Halifax access without Halifax pricing. The ferry puts downtown fifteen minutes away, and neighbourhoods like downtown Dartmouth, Woodside and Portland Estates each have their own feel.

The lakes are the thing people fall for. Banook, Micmac, Charles: swimming and paddling five minutes from your door, in a city. We show a lot of homes here to families trading a smaller peninsula house for a yard.

What we'd show you first

  • The Halifax–Dartmouth ferry, the oldest saltwater ferry route in North America

  • Lake Banook and Lake Micmac for paddling and swimming

  • Downtown Dartmouth's restaurants, breweries and Sunday market

  • More square footage and yard per dollar than the peninsula

“Mary-Jane was absolutely amazing! She is very knowledgeable and always quick to respond to all of our questions. She went above and beyond and we would highly recommend her to everyone, especially anyone buying their first home.”
